Cancun and Yucatan

In October and November 2009 I spent three weeks photographing as part of the International League of Conservation Photographers' RAVE in the Yucatan. RAVE stands for Rapid Assessment Visual Expedition. In these projects we put a group of photographers in a specific area for a concentrated but relatively brief period oif time. My assignment for this particular RAVE was to show the impacts of high end tourism, as well as to produce aerials of deforestation and sugarcane plantation impacts. I also was able to show some of the last intact areas remaining along the Riviera de Maya, particularly the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.
