Flathead Valley

In July of 2009 I spent about 10 days photographing in the Flathead Valley as as part of the International League of Conservation Photographers' RAVE. RAVE stands for Rapid Assessment Visual Expedition. In these projects we put a group of photographers in a specific area for a concentrated but relatively brief period oif time. In the flat head I shot aerials of the Flathead as well as the mountaintop removal coal mining in the edjacent elk valley - which has also been proposed for the Falthead. I also photographed sustainable wind farms just across the border in Alberta as well as finishing my visit to the Flathead with some time spent on the ground in the valley and the alpine. My blog on my time in the Flathead, also links to more inforation about the iLCP RAVE.
